Located in the meeting room of the Mining Engineering Study Program, Faculty of Engineering, Lambung Mangkurat University, the cooperation agreement (Memorandum of Agreement) regarding the management and publication of national journals to increase scientific publications between the Geosapta Journal of the Mining Engineering Study Program and the South Kalimantan Mining Engineering Heads Forum (KTT) which took place on September 1 2020.

This activity began with a brief presentation about the Geosapta Journal by the Chief Editor of the Geosapta Journal, Mr. Romla Noor Hakim, ST, MT, he explained that of the nearly 5000 nationally accredited journals in Indonesia which are divided into 6 rankings (Sinta 1 to Sinta 6), there are not many journals with a Geology theme. and Mining which has been nationally accredited, and the Geosapta Journal is one of the journals which has been nationally accredited with a Sinta 4 rating in accordance with the Decree of the Director General of Strengthening Research and Development of the Ministry of Research, Technology and Higher Education No 21/E/KPT/2018 concerning the Accreditation Ranking of Scientific Journals Period I of 2018. Manager The Geosapta Journal views that the South Kalimantan KTT Forum, which is a professional organization, can contribute to research and solving problems in the field according to its field and can publish the results of its research in the form of articles as a form of joint scientific development with higher education institutions.

This was confirmed by the Chair of the South Kalimantan KTT Forum, Mr. Hari Sutikno, SE, MS, who said that mining practitioners in South Kalimantan also carry out research and analysis in the field, but the results of this research have never been documented in the form of articles and published widely. So, with this collaboration, it is hoped that the Heads of Mineral and Coal Mining Engineering in South Kalimantan Province gathered in the South Kalimantan Summit Forum can start publishing the results of research that has been carried out in the field so that it can be known to the wider community in the form of journal articles.

The Geosapta Journal itself is a scientific journal published regularly in January and July each year which contains scientific articles about Geoscience for Mining Applications from Exploration & Geology, Geomechanics, Coal and Mineral Processing, Mineral-Coal Management and Economics and Mining Environment. The Geosapta Journal has been published since 2015 and is currently in the application stage for the reaccreditation process in the National Journal Accreditation (ARJUNA) system.

On this occasion, the Coordinator of the Mining Engineering Study Program at Lambung Mangkurat University, Mr. Agus Triantoro, ST, MT, conducted an initial assessment with the South Kalimantan KTT Forum as a follow-up to the results of the Workshop I on Curriculum Development for the Mining Engineering Study Program (PSTP) at Lambung Mangkurat University regarding willingness and involvement of mining practitioners who are members of the South Kalimantan KTT Forum in supporting the Independent Learning Campus (MBKM) based curriculum. It is hoped that mining companies in South Kalimantan can accept PSTP students who will carry out practical work, field studies, final assignments and internships so that they can reduce the waiting time for students to go to mining companies and speed up the student's study period.

Responding to this, the chairman of the South Kalimantan KTT Forum stated that he was basically willing and supported the MBKM-based curriculum program. Even the mining practitioners who are members of it are also willing to share knowledge and experience in the field with PSTP students in the form of guest lectures via webinar. and further technical matters of implementation will be discussed again. In closing, we quoted Pramoedya Ananta Toer's quote, "A person may be as clever as the sky, but as long as he doesn't write, he will be lost in society and from history. Writing is work for eternity."
