This year, for the first time, the Mining Engineering Study Program held an online Underground Coal Mine Safety Technology Training via Zoom meeting. This training is a collaboration with the Geology, Mineral and Coal Human Resources Development Center (PPSDM Geominerba, Indonesia) and Japan Oil, Gas and Metals National Corporation (JOGMEG, Japan). The training lasted for 4 days, from Monday-Thursday, 2 to 4 November 2020, from 07.00 Bandung Time/08.00 Banjarbaru Time/09.00 Nagasaki Time until 16.00 WITA.

On the first day, Prof. (Emeritus) Kikou Matsui from Khusyu University gave a public lecture on Mining Technology and Underground Mine Safety. On the second day, Widyaiswara, Mrs. Herlinawati from PPSDM Geominerba delivered material about Indonesian Mining Safety Laws and Regulations. Next, teachers from the JOGMEG Team (Yoshihisa Shimoda, Tsutomu Tanaka, Shinji Togawa, Atsushi Kakizaki, as well as translators Santoso Nugroho, Asep Mulyadi, and Agus Ruslan) who are underground coal mining practitioners at PT Matsui Mitsushima Resources provided training on Basic Coal Mining Knowledge & Experience in Underground Coal Mines in Indonesia, Mine Economic Evaluation, Ventilation Network Measurement and Analysis Technology, Evacuation Exercises using Mine Maps, Spontaneous Combustion Prevention Technology, Hazard Prediction & Shisa Kosho (Speech Show) Exercises, Mining Accident Case Studies, Coal Preparation Technology and Coal Quality Control.
