The role of universities in regional development is as partners of regional governments in determining policy areas and recommendations for development programs through academic texts produced from research.
The Cempaka area of Banjarbaru City is a mandatory research location for the ULM Faculty of Engineering. This area was chosen because it has a unique regional character and has the potential to be developed to become a village supported by the ULM Faculty of Engineering.
To achieve this goal, Monday, March 11 2019, a mandatory field visit was carried out by the research team together with the Dean and Deputy Dean, Head of Study Program, and Head of Lab/Studio within the ULM Faculty of Engineering. The survey and exploration of the research location was welcomed by the Head of the Cempaka Village and accompanied by the Head of the Community Empowerment Institute, the Head of the RW and the Head of the RT in Cempaka Village. The results of this research location search are the basic basis for determining research focus and zoning with the main aim being to support the vision and mission of the ULM Faculty of Engineering.
