The Indonesian Mining Environmental Management Communication Forum (Indonesian Mining Environmental Management Forum) in collaboration with the Mining Engineering Study Program FT ULM held a Public Lecture with the theme "Best Practice" Mining Environmental Management in Hall II, Faculty of Engineering, Lambung Mangkurat University. The activity which took place on January 29 2019 was opened directly by the Dean of FT ULM Dr. Banu Noor Muchammad. In his speech, the Dean of FT conveyed the importance of synergy between universities and the industrial world. He conveyed various collaborations and CSR programs involving the mining industry, such as PT. Adaro Indonesia disbursed large amounts of CSR funds this year which were used for the construction of student apartments, repairs to flats, as well as educational assistance/scholarships for Lambung Mangkurat University students. The FT Dean also said that the Faculty of Engineering is very open to collaborating with various agencies and industries, especially the mining industry operating in South Kalimantan.

Before that, Deputy Chair of FKPLPI Delma Azrin also delivered a speech. In his speech, he introduced FKPLPI as a forum for communication between environmental managers in mining companies in Indonesia which functions as a forum for exchanging ideas about best environmental management practices between companies; dissemination of information on mining environmental management activities and a catalyst for communication and coordination between agencies at the central and regional levels as well as a source of information on the results of mining environmental research.

In this public lecture, three speakers from the largest PKP2B holding companies in Indonesia delivered material related to information and innovation in environmental management in mining areas in their respective companies. Dodik Choiron from PT Adaro Indonesia delivered material regarding Environmental Management Innovations, Agung Febrianto from PT Kaltim Prima Coal delivered about the success of other forms of reclamation in ex-mining holes (Voids) and Eko Mulyono Efendi from PT. Arutmin Indonesia conveyed about Ex-Mining Land Reclamation Techniques. More than 100 students from 7 study programs within the Faculty of Engineering seemed very enthusiastic about participating in this event. The various door prizes given by the speakers further increased the enthusiasm of the participants to ask questions and answer questions raised by the resource person (nhk).
