Mining Engineering is one of the Study Programs (PS) under the Unlam Faculty of Engineering. This Study Program was established based on the Decree of the Director General of DIKTI No. 3804/D/T/2004 dated 21 September 2004. This operational permit has been extended 2 (two) times, namely by Decree number 2481/D/T/2007 23 August 2007 which then extended again with Decree number 9416/D/T/KN/2011 on October 31 2011. The Mining Engineering Study Program accepted its first batch of students in 2005.
The Mining Engineering Study Program has been accredited based on the Decree of the National Accreditation Board for Higher Education (BAN-PT) number 038/BAN-PT/Ak-XIII/I/2011 with a validity period of 14 January 2011 – 14 January 2016. This accreditation status has been extended in accordance with BAN-PT Decree Number: 846/SK/BAN-PT/Akred/S/VIII/2015 with validity period 15 August 2015 – 15 August 2020.

Study Program Mission
- Providing educational services in the mining sector with the best quality in Indonesia.
- Carry out research according to superior programs, with priority on utilizing Kalimantan's natural potential and developing innovations in order to anticipate wetland environmental conditions.
- Organizing Community Service Programs, especially those related to the wetland environment.
- Establishing cooperation with government, industry, professional organizations and the community in order to support the implementation of the Tridharma of Higher Education.
Study Program Objectives
- Producing graduates/Bachelors of Mining Engineering with the Wasaka character (Waja Until Kaputing - never giving up before the goal is achieved), qualified, competent and relevant to the world of work so that they are able to apply and develop science and technology in the mining sector.
- Producing graduates/graduates in Mining Engineering who are able to compete and work together
- Producing innovative and applicable research in the field of mining technology and strengthening wetland environments
- Developing the Tridharma of Higher Education and disseminating knowledge and technology in the field of Mining Engineering through education, research and community service and seeking its use to improve people's lives.

The Mining Engineering Study Program has the Geosapta Journal as a forum for research publications in the field of geology and mining applications.
Apart from that, the Himasapta Journal is also intended to accommodate final project/thesis students' scientific articles.
