Banjarbaru. August 16, 2024. The Faculty of Engineering, Lambung Mangkurat University (ULM) has carried out Friday prayers at the FT ULM Banjarbaru Campus Plaza during the implementation of PKKMB
2024. Led directly by the Vice Dean for Student Affairs and Alumni (Prof. Dr. Ir. Abdul Ghofur, ST, MT). Acting as Khatib are the Vice Dean for Academic Affairs, and the Vice Dean
Finance and General Affairs (Ir. Nurhakim, ST, MT) as Muezzin. Friday prayers have an important role in the lives of Muslims, both as obligatory worship and
as a moment to strengthen the bonds of brotherhood between fellow Muslims. In the 2024 Introduction to Campus Life for New Students (PKKMB) at FT ULM, the implementation of Friday prayers became
one of the main agendas that must be accommodated well. The goal is to ensure that all participants, consisting of around 700 people including lecturers, education staff (tendik), and
students, can perform this worship solemnly and comfortably.
To achieve this goal, various preparations need to be done carefully. First, determining an adequate location is very important, considering the large number of participants. If the campus mosque
not wide enough, other alternatives such as a large hall or open field equipped with tents and supporting facilities will be used. Being religious, which is one of the work cultures at FT ULM, has an important role in shaping the character of students and academics. This religious attitude not only includes carrying out worship according to each religion and belief, but also reflects moral and ethical values in every action and decision taken. By prioritizing a religious attitude, it is hoped that all campus members can carry out their duties and responsibilities (amanah) with full integrity and noble character.
