On 30-31 October 2020, Civil Service for the Country 2020 was held with the theme "Serving the Country during the Pandemic" which was located at MI Nurul Huda, Sungai Pinang Baru Village, Banjar Regency. Civil Service for the Nation (SUN) is an annual work program in the form of community service carried out by the Civil Student Association of the Faculty of Engineering, Lambung Mangkurat University. This work program focuses on repairing, rebuilding, or new construction of buildings and public facilities that are no longer suitable in villages or in non-state schools that receive little attention from the government. The aim of Civil for the Country is to give birth to the next generation of the nation who cares about society and becomes a solution for society itself as well as helping society with infrastructure problems by applying the civil engineering knowledge gained in lectures.
This activity, which lasted for 2 days, was well received by the residents of Sungai Pinang Baru Village. The first day began by being opened by Mrs. Ir. Ida Barkiah, MT as Coordinator of the Civil Engineering Undergraduate Study Program at Lambung Mangkurat University via Google Meet, then continued with civil engineering socialization regarding bridge design and water sanitation which was attended by the Village Head and resident representatives. On the second day, a free health check, assisted by the ULM Medical Assistance Team, was also carried out games interactive activity which was participated in by MI Nurul Huda's children enthusiastically and enthusiastically. Apart from that, repairs and renewal of learning facilities were also carried out, such as painting classroom walls and repairing damaged classroom floors. Civil Service for the Country this time could not have run smoothly without the help of all the donors and sponsors who have provided their support and assistance. Therefore, we would like to express our deepest thanks to all parties who have helped in organizing this event. Hopefully this event can raise students' social awareness in order to improve the quality of human resources, especially in South Kalimantan. Apart from that, hopefully it can make the government aware of the infrastructure gaps that still occur, especially in the education sector because all children have the same rights in pursuing education.
