Kalimantan Students Mining Competition held again. This activity, which is routinely carried out every 2 years by the Mining Engineering Study Program, Faculty of Engineering, Lambung Mangkurat University, is taking place again this year. Since it was first implemented in 2011, this activity has continued offline in 2013, 2015, 2017, 2019. In 2021, Kalimantan Students Mining Competition The 6th event was still carried out in the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic, even though the implementation was slow semi online adapt existing health protocol standards. After the pandemic was revoked, in 2023 the 7th KSMC will again be held online.
The KSMC 7 Opening Ceremony was held at the Mahligai Pancasila Building on July 4 2023 which was combined with the National Seminar "The Role of Mining Commodities in the Indonesian Battery Industry". The Seminar Committee also presented several resource persons, including the Head of the South Kalimantan Province Industrial Service, H. Mahyuni, SPd, MT. Apart from that, Hadi S Daulay ST, MT from the Directorate of Mineral Entrepreneur Development, Directorate General of Mineral and Coal, Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources and Academician Jamaluddin, SSi, MEng from the Balikpapan State Polytechnic who gave online presentations were also present. ULM Mining Engineering Study Program lecturer Ir Nurhakim, ST, MT, IPM also appeared to give a presentation with the title "Downstreaming University Products & Increasing Graduate Competency in the Context of Downstreaming Mining Commodities to Support the Development of the Battery Industry in Indonesia". The National Seminar was officially opened by the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, Lambung Mangkurat University, Prof. Dr. Ir. H. Iphan F Radam, ST, MT, IPU was attended by bureaucrats, industry, academics and students from several mining universities in Indonesia.
