For two consecutive days, a Self-Managed Collaboration Research Proposal Expose was held between the Banjarmasin City Research and Development Center and the ULM Faculty of Engineering. There are 2 research titles presented on Wednesday 20 March 2019, namely:
- Ecohydraulic Study of Path Mapping and River Potential Optimization in Banjarmasin City, with research leader M. Azhari Noor, ST., M.Eng, from the ULM Civil Engineering Study Program,
- Sustainability of Fish Cultivation with Floating Net Cages on the Martapura River, with Research Chair Dr. Nopi Prihatini from the ULM Environmental Engineering Study Program. Meanwhile, on Thursday, March 21 2019, research was presented,
- Cultural Landscape of Lanting House in Banjarmasin with research leader Dr. Ira Mentayani, ST., MT. from the ULM Architecture Study Program.
At the opening of the event, the Head of Banjarmasin City Barenlitbangda, Ir. Sugito expressed his appreciation and high hopes for the results of this research so that they can become recommendations for determining policy direction and preparing programs for Regional Work Units within the Banjarmasin City Government.
Apart from the research team, there was also a Working Group team consisting of agencies from the Environment Service, Housing and Settlements Service, Tourism Service, River Hall, Health Service, Center for Settlement and Urban Development Studies LPPM-ULM, and other related agencies. Apart from that, there was also the presence of the Green Community Forum, Srikandi Sungai Indonesia, LK3, Borneo Centre, Melingai and representatives and business people related to the research location.
The discussion which took place over 3 sessions gathered many suggestions and input, especially highlighting the content and focus of the research which was expected to enter the practical and applicable realm so that it could guide the relevant agencies to follow up.
In order to support the role of universities in regional development, the ULM Faculty of Engineering will continue to open a collaborative network with the Regional Government through research and community service programs as well as other collaborative programs. It is hoped that in the future, integrated collaboration will be a concrete step that is expected to trigger research-based city development (irm).
