BACKGROUND

With the stipulation of the 2010-2014 Lambung Mangkurat University Strategic Plan, the Strategic Plan will of course become a reference and basis for preparing the vision and mission as well as operational programs of the institutions under it (faculties, institutions and study programs). Furthermore, related to the process of preparing the vision for the Faculty of Engineering, Lambung Mangkurat University for the 2014–2018 period, it was announced Vision of the Faculty of Engineering 2025 As an Institution that has International Competitiveness in the Engineering and Applied Fields based on Natural Resources in Kalimantan with Vision of the Faculty of Engineering Lambung Mangkurat University in 2018 it was designated as a Leading Institution in the Engineering Sector in Utilizing Kalimantan's Natural Potential Based on Green Technology so that it becomes a reference in preparing the vision and mission as well as operational programs of the institutions under it (Institutions and Study Programs). Efforts to achieve Vision 2025 are divided into 3 (three) stages, namely:

Phase I (2014-2018): focused on System and Infrastructure Development as well as Sustainable Improvement and Strengthening of the Quality of Human Resources.
Stage II (2018-2022): focused on strengthening and collaborating within the country to increase national competitiveness.
Stage III (2022-2025): focused on strengthening and foreign cooperation to increase Southeast Asia's competitiveness.

This vision then became a study that developed in the Senate meeting of the Faculty of Engineering, Lambung Mangkurat University, with efforts and a desire to find clear benchmarks, so that the final evaluation in the position of Dean in carrying out his vision could be assessed as to the level of success. The Chemical Engineering Master's Study Program (PSMTK) was established in accordance with the legality and permits for establishing the study program in accordance with the Decree (SK) of the Minister of Research, Technology and Higher Education of the Republic of Indonesia Number 276/KPT/I/2017 concerning Permits to Open PSMTK
