A brief History

The Environmental Engineering Study Program at the Unlam Faculty of Engineering will begin its establishment in 2006. Based on a survey of industry and government agencies in South Kalimantan, environmental experts are still very much needed with specific areas of expertise: Environmental Management, Clean Water Supply Engineering, Waste Water Engineering, and Solid Waste Management.
The proposal to establish an Environmental Engineering Study Program was approved by Decree of the Director General of Higher Education, Department of National Education No. 3062/D/T/2006, and accredited by Accreditation Decree No. 001/BAN-PT/Ak-XIV/S1/V/2011.

Background

The establishment of the Environmental Engineering Study program at the Unlam Faculty of Engineering is a form of response to awareness of environmental sustainability. The need for professionals who are able to handle environmental problems is still quite large, so the opportunity for graduates to fill the job market in the field of Environmental Engineering is still very open. These fields are in various institutions such as consultants, contractors, industry, health, civil servants, banking, trade, education, and so on.

Study Program Vision

To make a higher education institution and center for the development of science and technology in the field of engineering and environmental management known in Indonesia.

Study Program Mission

  1. Providing undergraduate education (S1) in Environmental Engineering.
  2. Carrying out research activities in the field of engineering and environmental management.
  3. Organizing community service activities in order to disseminate and obtain feedback on science and technology needs in the fields of engineering and environmental management

Study Program Objectives

  1. Producing undergraduate graduates (S1) in Environmental Engineering who suit the needs of the job market.
  2. Producing research in the fields of engineering and environmental management.
  3. Producing community service activities in order to disseminate and obtain feedback on science and technology needs in the fields of engineering and environmental management.
