Mine Modeling and Planning Studio

The Mining Modeling and Planning Studio is one of the laboratories under the Faculty of Engineering, Lambung Mangkurat University. The main service of this Studio is carrying out activities Practice And Big mission. Besides that, the Mining Modeling and Planning Studio also organizes Training in the mining sector and where students complete Final Project / Thesis. The Mining Modeling and Planning Studio opens opportunities for Professional Engineer Program Students to implement Engineering Internship/Practice. The Mining Modeling and Planning Studio is also the Manager of the ULM Mining YouTube Channel.

The Mining Modeling and Planning Studio was initiated in 2001 to serve 4 computer courses in the Mining Engineering Diploma Study Program. The existence of this Studio was officially mandated in 2004 in preparation for the establishment of the Mining Engineering Undergraduate Study Program, FT ULM. The Letter of Assignment and Establishment Decree was signed by the then Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, Dr. Ir. Rusdi HA, MSc. The latest decree for the operations of the Mining Modeling and Planning Studio was signed by the Chancellor of ULM through Chancellor's Decree Number 183/DL/2020 dated January 2 2020 concerning Laboratories within the Faculty of Engineering, Lambung Mangkurat University.

In carrying out its duties and functions, the Mine Modeling and Planning Studio has several LICENSED SOFTWARE, including Applocation MineScape (as a follow-up to the ULM Chancellor's MoU with PT> Datamine, continuing the previous MoU between the ULM Chancellor and PT. Mitrais Indonesia), Application ArcGIS (as a follow-up to ULM's collaboration with BIG and ESRI Indonesia - the implementation was coordinated by PPIIG ULM), and Applications AutoDesk, others: AutoCAD, Autodesk 3ds Max, Autodesk 3ds Max Design, Autodesk Alias Automotive, Autodesk Alias Design, Autodesk Ecotect Analysis, Autodesk Green Building Studio, Autodesk Impression, Autodesk Inventor Professional, Autodesk Inventor Publisher, Autodesk Maya, Autodesk MotionBuilder, Autodesk Mudbox, Autodesk Navisworks Manage, Autodesk Quantity Takeoff, Autodesk Revit Architecture, Autodesk Revit Structure, Autodesk Robot Structural Analysis Professional, Autodesk Showcase, Autodesk Simulation Multiphysics, Autodesk SketchBook Designer, Autodesk SketchBook Pro, Autodesk Smoke for Mac OS in the form of Educational Licenses)

Facility

The main facilities in the Mining Modeling and Planning Studio are 20 All-in-one PC units connected to a network. At least every PC has the ArcGIS Desktop (ArcMap), MineScape and AutoCAD applications installed. 

Apart from that, the Studio also has other facilities, including: DJI Phantom 4+ Pro Drone, Garmin GPS Map, A3 Printer and A4 Printer as well as Communication Equipment.

  1. Every entry / exit from the Mine Modeling and Planning Studio MUST be submitted e-Logbook

  2. Be polite, courteous and uphold academic ethics in the Mining Modeling and Planning Studio.

  3. Uphold and respect laboratory staff and fellow users of the Mine Modeling and Planning Studio.

  4. Maintain the cleanliness and comfort of the Mine Modeling and Planning Studio space.

  5. It is prohibited to touch, shift and use equipment in the Mine Modeling and Planning Studio other than as written on the equipment loan form at the time written.

  6. Clean the equipment used before returning the equipment to the Mine Modeling and Planning Studio.

  7. Use Dress Code in accordance with applicable academic regulations.

Studio Head

  1. Plan research, education and community service activities at the Studio.

  2. Prepare operational and development plans for the Studio.

  3. Providing services to the academic community to develop science and technology.

  4. Prepare schedules and coordinate all Studio academic activities.

  5. Provide coaching to Studio members.

  6. Establishing cooperation with external parties in order source sharing and Studio empowerment.

  7. Monitor and evaluate the availability of infrastructure and activities in the Studio.

  8. Report activities at least every semester to the Dean.

  9. Coordinating with the Head of the Expertise Group regarding teaching and learning activities and the knowledge development process.

Instructor 

  1. Preparing for practicum implementation in the Studio.

  2. Carrying out instructions in carrying out practicums in the Studio.

  3. Maintain order and smooth running of practicums in the Studio.

  4. Assist laboratory assistants in accompanying students conducting research.

  5. Carry out tasks assigned by the Studio Head.

  6. Maintain the cleanliness of the Studio.

  7. Carry out tasks assigned by the Studio Head.

  8. Responsible directly to the Head of Studio.

The Mining Modeling and Planning Studio provides services to Students, Lecturers and External Users in implementing the Tri Dharma of Higher Education.

Carrying out services for regular practicums which are carried out in accordance with ongoing courses, including practicums, practical work, final assignments and community service.

Carry out research services both institutionally and outside the institution in accordance with the regulations that apply to the service.

The Mining Modeling and Planning Studio opens opportunities for Professional Engineer Program Students to implement Engineering Internship/Practice. The students from the Professional Engineering Study Program at Lambung Mangkurat University who carry out engineering practices are:

SOP-MODREN-01: LOAN TOOLS

a. Mining Modeling and Planning Studio Service Procedures

  1. Mining Modeling and Planning Studio services consist of borrowing tools from the Studio.

  2. Studio service personnel are technicians.

  3. The applicant for Studio activities is a ULM Mining Engineering lecturer.

  4. Users are students or parties who use the tool.

  5. The applicant fills out an activity permit for the entire series of activities such as a semester's practicum or a month's research which can be accessed at... no later than the day before the loan (except for incidental activities approved by the Studio Head).

  6. The permit for this activity is known and approved by the Head of the Studio

  7. The applicant or user fills out the equipment loan form which can be accessed at ..... three days before the loan (except for incidental activities approved by the Studio Head).

  8. The applicant or user meets the Studio service officer to borrow Studio equipment during the Studio's operational hours.

  9. Studio operational hours are every Monday-Friday, 08.00-16.00 outside red dates such as National Holidays unless there is an agreement with the Technician.

  10. Outside of operational hours, Studio service staff are entitled to additional income/services.

    b. Equipment Borrowing Procedures for Practicum

  1. Borrowing equipment for practicum is only permitted during the Studio's operational hours on the same day (equipment must be returned before the Studio closes).

  2. Users meet Studio service staff to borrow equipment.

  3. The tools that users will borrow are tools that are filled in by users on the page.... and in accordance with the list of practical tools filled in by the applicant on the page.... 

  4. The user submits the user's identification card (KTP/SIM/KTM) with the name as filled in by the user on the page..... to the Studio service officer.

  5. The technician takes the tool from the tool holder and shows the tool to the Studio service officer.

  6. Studio service officers check the conformity of the contents of the form filled out on the page..... with the name on the ID card and the device indicated by the user.

  7. The Studio service officer marks the handover of the equipment and provides a loan number in the format XY-FZ, where ).

  8. The Studio service officer hands over the equipment to the applicant as written on the equipment loan form.

  9. Studio service officers and/or practicum assistants check each part of the equipment before leaving the Studio as stated on the equipment parts check form.

  10. The user cleans the equipment before returning the tool to the Studio.

  11. Studio service officers and/or practicum assistants check each part of the equipment after entering the Studio as stated on the equipment parts check form.

  12. The Studio service officer hands over an ID card to the user with the appropriate photo on the ID and marks the process of borrowing the tool on the form as complete after ensuring that the tool is returned in a clean condition and that each part of the tool is in the same condition as when it was borrowed.

  13. Lecturers who teach courses and students are responsible for the equipment borrowed.

   c. Equipment Borrowing Procedures for Other Needs

  1. Borrowing tools for other purposes is only permitted for practical work, final assignments, research and community service involving at least one active lecturer and student at PSTP FT ULM

  2. Professional users or external parties are permitted to rent both equipment and services in accordance with the applicable provisions in the Lambung Mangkurat University Basic Service Tariff Decree.

  3. Users meet Studio service staff to borrow equipment

  4. The tools that the user will borrow are the tools that are filled in by the user on the page..... and are in accordance with the list of practical tools filled in by the applicant on the page.....

Established in 2001, the Mining Modeling and Planning Studio has moved locations several times. The first location is to the north of the main hall of the ULM Banjarbaru Faculty of Engineering Building (LoE: 3° 26′ 43.19″ S 114° 50′ 26.84″ E –  currently a Library and Reading Room for the Faculty of Engineering), then occupies a room on the 2nd Floor of the Mining Engineering Laboratory Building (LoE: 3° 26′ 43.04″ S 114° 50′ 24.34″ E), and since July 1 2022, Modeling and Planning Studio The mine occupies the North Side of the 2nd Floor of the New Building for the Integrated Mining Engineering Laboratory (LoE: 3° 26′ 43.55″ S 114° 50′ 25.22″ E).
